I just upgraded to the recently released WordPress 1.5.1, and I figured now was also as good a time as any to (finally) change how I’ve been doing my permalinks, i.e., the links to the actual entries. I have now fallen in line with what appears to be the prevalent way of doing things these days, which is to use “pretty” permalinks (or “dir-ified” permalinks or whatever you want to call them)—that is, using the post name—instead of the post number in the permalinks.
Which means that, for awhile, search engine links (read: Google) will be busted, but they’ll catch up soon enough. (For readers hitting the site from Google, et al., I apologize for the inconvenience, but I’ve been wanting to do this for some time now. Redo the permalinks, that is, not inconvenience you.)
