How I spent my Thanksgiving holidays

Drove to College Station on Wednesday to spend a couple of days with my folks. Patted myself on the back for saving about a half hour on the drive by driving through Corsicana instead of plowing down I-45 through the neverending road construction around the Exit 229 area.

Ate way too much on Thursday. Way too much.

Went car shopping with my dad on Friday morning (for him and my mom, not for me). Talked him out of getting a minivan (I think), much to my mom’s delight—the thought of driving a minivan was scaring the bejeezus out of my mom, methinks. Watched Texas A&M get the crap kicked out of them by Texas, 50-20, later that morning to finish the season at 6-6 (3-5 in Big 12 play). Cursed some—but not a lot, since it was pretty much a given that the Aggies were going to lose. Drove to Houston after dinner to see my sweetie’s family for the weekend.

Went into Old Town Spring on Saturday morning for lunch and some shopping. Discovered that I actually enjoy shopping to some extent. At least shopping with my sweetie. Maybe it’s just that I enjoy my sweetie. Spent part of the evening at a sidewalk book sale (mmmmm… $0.25 books…).

Back to D/FW on Sunday. Patted myself on the back again for saving about a half hour on the drive by driving through Corsicana instead of plowing up I-45 through the neverending road construction around the Exit 229 area.

Started counting the days until Christmas vacation.
