Sounds of silence?

As a result of state House and Senate bills, Texas has joined the ranks of states that provide state-sponsored “Do Not Call” lists for telemarketers. You can now pay a nominal registration fee to have your telephone number listed for up to a five-year period. From the time your number shows up on the state lists, non-exempt telemarketers have 60 days to remove you from their own calling lists; violators can be fined up to $1000 per incident should they call you after this period.

Gee, I wonder if I’m going to sign up?
