Just like the Energizer bunny, it keeps going and going. Well, at least it did.

Back in May of 1990, I received a cool little LCD travel alarm clock as a gift from one of my best friends for being in his wedding party. It worked off of a single watch battery, and it worked well.

Last night, after 11 1/2 years of operation, the original battery finally died. This little clock—my backup alarm in case the power went out overnight, my trusty little travel companion all these years—is, for the first time since I owned it, dark.
